About Canyon Arc

Subject-matter expertise is only useful if it can be taught, practiced, and evaluated.

Canyon Arc exists because operational experts are often too busy to turn what they know into a complete, teachable course.

We organize policy, legal standards, research, and field experience into training that instructors can deliver consistently and learners can apply on the job.

Founder & Principal

Steven A. Brooks

Steven is a public-safety instructor and curriculum developer with more than 15 years of law-enforcement experience and extensive academy instructional experience. He has worked on curriculum redevelopment, scenario-based instruction, practical skills, use-of-force and legal instruction, assessments, instructor development, and training-program implementation.

Canyon Arc approaches each project from the instructor's point of view: Can it be taught clearly? Can it be practiced? Can performance be evaluated fairly?
